What Is Kaal Sarp Dosha?
Kaal Sarp Dosha, or Kaal Sarp Yoga, forms when all seven grahas, from the Sun to Saturn, stand on one side of the axis made by Rahu and Ketu, the shadow planets. The kundli then resembles a serpent holding all the planets between its head and tail, and tradition associates the formation with periods of struggle followed by remarkable achievement once the dosha is pacified.
The Twelve Types of Kaal Sarp Yoga
The yoga takes its name from the house Rahu occupies: Anant from the 1st house, Kulik from the 2nd, Vasuki from the 3rd, Shankhpal from the 4th, Padma from the 5th, Mahapadma from the 6th, Takshak from the 7th, Karkotak from the 8th, Shankhachur from the 9th, Ghatak from the 10th, Vishdhar from the 11th and Sheshnag from the 12th. Each type colours a different area of life, from health and wealth to marriage and career.
How This Calculator Works
Enter your birth date, time and city. The tool computes the positions of all grahas with Rahu and Ketu, checks whether every planet falls on one side of the axis, and names the exact yoga type from Rahu’s house. If one planet stands outside, it reports a partial formation, which is considered much milder.
